Breast Cancer Awareness month - Day 2

Day 2. What happens when breast cancer spreads?
Breast cancer that spreads to another organ, such as bones or liver, is still breast cancer and does not become bone cancer or liver cancer. Under a microscope, the tumor cells will still look and act like breast cancer and will be treated as breast cancer.

So even though I have a spot of cancer on my lung, it's still breast cancer. I had no clue about that before I was diagnosed, but to be honest, the only thing I knew for sure before diagnosis was women had mastectomies, really harsh chemo and then took Tamoxifen for 5 years following. Metastatic wasn't in my breast cancer vocabulary.

It is now.
