That time Lee came to visit

It's been five years since Tropical Storm Lee visited us here in the Wyoming Valley. Not having been here in 1972 for Agnes, I'd never seen the Susquehanna River flood like this, and it was quite a sight! Seeing it showed me how powerful the river really is and how quickly it can rise (and recede). The shots below were all taken on the Kingston side of the dike, between the Veteran's Memorial and Market Street bridges.

We here in Kingston got off easy, with the dike containing the water. Other communities weren't so lucky - it still seems weird to drive down River Road in Jenkins Twp and pass the empty lots that used to have houses on them.
