A waste of signage
I drove through Wilkes-Barre yesterday and it occurred to me that speed limit signs in the city are a waste. The first assumption would be that it's because everyone ignores them, but that would be incorrect. They are a waste because with the state of the streets in Wilkes-Barre, you can't drive as fast as the speed limit without risking the well-being of your vehicle. There is one nice street in WB and that is Coal Street...all others are bumpy stretches of struts-killing pavement that are like an obstacle course. No wonder people fly over the Pierce Street bridge! Smooth pavement!
(The Kingston police department could fund itself by sitting at the end of the bridge and nailing the people who do 55 MPH over it, btw. It's nuts.)
Whine over.
