Color where I expected none

I was out early for a walk yesterday morning, hoping to beat the bad weather. It was surprisingly warm, but dark and dreary. The sky was gray, the trees the same now that the leaves are down. It was just bleh.

But there on the bottom of the river, under maybe 4 inches of water, were the leaves. For whatever reason, they sunk to the bottom instead of being carried away by the current.  I found it strangely beautiful.
